Eid serves as momentum for unity, common goals: Minister

Jakarta (ANTARA) –

Indonesia’s State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi has urged the public to use the momentum of Eid al-Fitr to work harder and strengthen unity in achieving national goals.

“Going forward, let us make this Eid holiday a spirit for us to work harder and unite to achieve our common goals,” Hadi said after accompanying President Prabowo Subianto at Eid prayers at Darussalam Mosque in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Saturday.

Hadi also joined the president during takbiran celebrations in North Sumatra on Friday evening, marking the end of Ramadan, before continuing to Aceh Tamiang for Eid prayers.

In addition to worship activities, President Prabowo greeted worshippers after the prayers and visited a temporary housing site for flash flood survivors in the area.

Looking ahead, Hadi said President Prabowo was scheduled to host an open house at the State Palace in Jakarta later on Saturday, welcoming the public as part of the traditional halal bihalal gathering.

“After returning from Aceh Tamiang, the President is set to head back to Jakarta. Later in the afternoon, he plans to hold an open house for the general public,” Hadi explained.

Prabowo is also expected to receive visits from former presidents at the palace.

According to the latest information, Indonesia’s sixth president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and seventh president Joko Widodo are expected to attend.

Earlier this week, Prabowo met separately with fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri at the Merdeka Palace.
