President Prabowo greets thousands at Eid al-Fitr open house gathering

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto greeted, shook hands with, and embraced members of the public attending an open house event in celebration of the Eid al-Fitr at the Presidential Palace here on Saturday.

Prabowo arrived at the palace at around 3 p.m. local time, wearing a white koko shirt, black trousers, and a black peci cap.

He was accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo, who wore a blue koko shirt and a black peci.

Upon entering the venue, Prabowo immediately greeted attendees and conveyed Eid al-Fitr wishes. The public responded enthusiastically, eager to shake hands with the President.

The gathering created a memorable moment for attendees, with some seen in tears and attempting to embrace the President.

During the event, the President was also accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

The open house was attended by around 4,000 to 5,000 people from the afternoon until evening. Additional facilities, including outdoor tents, were provided to accommodate visitors when indoor capacity was full.

Guests enjoyed various traditional Eid dishes, including ketupat, and simple entertainment was provided for children attending with their families.

The Presidential Palace open house follows a long-standing tradition, allowing the public to visit the palace complex during Eid as a gesture of togetherness.

State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi told the press that President Prabowo had announced days earlier that the gathering would not require the attendance of government officials, emphasizing that the event was intended specifically for the public.
