According to a statement issued in Jakarta on Sunday, NU—through its charitable arm NU Care-LAZISNU—worked with international partners to deliver 4,503 iftar meal packages to displaced residents, including those sheltering in camps in Deir al-Balah, Gaza.
Riri Khariroh, executive director of NU Care-LAZISNU, said the organization also supplied 152,000 liters of clean water to help address shortages caused by damage to critical civilian infrastructure.
She added that the assistance included food packages for 1,400 people in the West Bank, 350 clothing packages for families, and 1,400 packages of basic necessities to support Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Jerusalem.
“This humanitarian program has long been part of NU Care-LAZISNU’s commitment. As a philanthropic institution under NU, we feel a strong responsibility to support Palestinians facing prolonged hardship,” Khariroh said.
She stressed that, amid a worsening humanitarian situation, the agency remains committed to sustaining aid deliveries to affected communities.
Khariroh also described Ramadan as a key moment to strengthen solidarity and expand cooperation with international partners in responding to humanitarian crises.
“Our global partner network, including in Jerusalem, has enabled aid distribution to reach vulnerable groups, including those living in refugee camps and temporary shelters in Gaza and other Palestinian areas,” she said.
She expressed appreciation to donors for their continued support, assuring that all contributions are managed transparently and directed to those most in need.
NU Care-LAZISNU has been actively involved in international humanitarian efforts, particularly in Palestine, where ongoing conflict has displaced thousands and strained access to food, clean water and basic services.
The organization said it would continue coordinating with global partners to ensure aid reaches affected populations effectively and sustainably.
