Jakarta deploys teams as heavy rain floods 46 neighborhoods

“The flooding was triggered by high-intensity rain and overflows of the Cipinang, Cilangkap, and Sunter rivers,” BPBD Head Isnawa Adji said in Jakarta on Sunday.
He said the 46 RTs, spread across nine urban villages, remained inundated as of 10 a.m. local time, with floodwaters reaching up to 80 centimeters.
BPBD has deployed personnel to monitor affected areas and coordinated with the water resources, highway, and fire and rescue agencies to help floodwaters recede.
“We urge residents to remain vigilant. In emergencies, please call 112, a free hotline available 24 hours,” Adji said.
