Soekarno-Hatta climbs to 22nd in global airport rankings

At the World Airport Awards organized by Skytrax in London on March 18, 2026, Soekarno-Hatta Airport was included in the World’s Top 100 Airports list.
“With this 22nd position, Soekarno-Hatta has improved from 25th place last year. This achievement is one of the most prestigious in the global aviation industry,” General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Heru Karyadi said here on Monday.
He explained that the ranking was based on the World Airport Survey, which involved passengers from more than 100 countries, conducted between August 2025 and February 2026.
The survey covered various service aspects, including check-in processes, arrivals, transit, commercial areas, security and immigration, as well as departure gates.
“We are committed to continuously delivering the best experience and improving service quality in line with public expectations,” he said.
Karyadi explained that the airport’s transformation efforts focus on three main pillars: Premises, Process, and People.
These include improving infrastructure and facilities, strengthening synergy among stakeholders, and enhancing service quality by all personnel to deliver a world-class journey experience, he pointed out.
Over the past three years, Soekarno-Hatta’s ranking trend has shown consistent improvement, rising from 28th place in 2024 to 25th in 2025, and now reaching 22nd globally in 2026.
Various service improvements include the beautification of Terminal 3, the operation of the Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F, and the revitalization of Terminal 1C, which now features a modern concept combined with distinctive Indonesian cultural elements.
In addition, the airport also recorded several other achievements at the 2026 World Airport Awards, including ranking 8th among the Best Airports in Asia (up from 9th), and 2nd in the Best Airport 2026 category for 60 to 70 million passengers.
