Soekarno-Hatta immigration retains global top 10 in Skytrax ranking

Tangerang (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Ministry of Immigration and Corrections announced that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, has retained its place among the world’s top 10 airports for immigration services, according to Skytrax’s 2026 report.

“It is a notable achievement that we have remained in Skytrax’s global top 10 ranking from last year to this year,” Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman remarked at the international airport on Friday.

Skytrax, a London-based company that evaluates and rates aviation services, issued a report on the World Airport Awards 2026 on March 18, noting that the Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office met several criteria for the category of World’s Best Airport Immigration Services.

The report assessed a wide range of aspects related to arrivals, transfers, and departures, evaluating border control, waiting times, queuing systems, priority lanes, e-gate efficiency, and the quality and courtesy of immigration staff.

Yusman noted that the achievement reflected the ministry’s ongoing reforms and innovations in immigration services, particularly at international airports.

He said, in addition to immigration services, the Skytrax Awards ranked Soekarno-Hatta Airport 22nd in the World’s Top 100 Airports, eighth in Best Airports in Asia, and second in the category for airports handling 50 million to 60 million passenger movements annually.

“Indonesia has demonstrated stability in service quality, as reflected in customer ratings from various countries, covering aspects such as waiting time efficiency, autogate optimization, priority lane availability, and personnel professionalism,” he stated.

The official emphasized that the Immigration Ministry would continue to foster collaboration and strengthen innovation to deliver more adaptive and modern immigration services that meet public needs and expectations amid global dynamics.

Quoting Immigration Minister Agus Andrianto, Yusman stressed that technology utilization is key for Indonesia to boost competitiveness.

“We remain committed to improving public service quality, advancing digital transformation, and providing quick, safe, and friendly services,” he said, noting that the government would not be complacent with the Skytrax ratings.

He added that immigration services have been running smoothly despite the surge in mobility during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming season.
