Ministry urges public to avoid peak of Eid return flow

“To that end, we urge the public to return to the Greater Jakarta area on March 23, 2026, by utilizing the collective leave, or during the period of March 25–27, 2026, by taking advantage of the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy encouraged by the government,” he said in a statement here on Sunday.
Based on data from the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC), the peak of the return flow is predicted to occur on Tuesday (March 24), with an estimated volume of more than 285,000 vehicles.
This figure is higher than the peak of the homecoming flow on March 18, 2026, which reached 270,315 vehicles.
In a separate statement, National Police Traffic Corps head, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, said there would be three peak return periods that travelers should avoid.
The first peak is expected on March 24, 2026, followed by the second and third peaks on March 28 and 29, 2026.
“We predict these three days will mark the peak of the 2026 Eid return flow. We urge the public to avoid these peak periods so that traffic services can run safely, comfortably, and securely,” he said.
President Director of PT Jasa Marga Rivan A. Purwantono called on travelers to cooperate by planning their return trips in accordance with government recommendations.
He also reminded travelers to take advantage of the 30 percent toll tariff discount during the return flow period for two days, namely March 26-27, 2026, across nine toll road sections operated by the Jasa Marga Group for continuous journeys.
