5.5-magnitude quake hits Southern Sumatra, Indonesia — GFZ

BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted Southern Sumatra, Indonesia at 1658 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 100.9 km, was initially determined to be at 3.04 degrees south latitude and 101.5 degrees east longitude.
